ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book focuses on some of the challenges in big data management and analytics and big data security and privacy as well as to provide some details of authors’ ongoing efforts on big data analytics and its applications in cyber security. It provides an overview of various data mining techniques. The book discusses data mining and its applications for insider threat detection. It also focuses on various challenges associated with data stream classification and describes authors’ approach to meet those challenges. The book also discusses related work in data stream classification, semisupervised clustering, and novelty detection. It describes authors’ findings and provides directions for further work in stream data analytics in general and stream data classification in particular. The book explores insider threat detection for sequence data, an ordered list of objects.
