ABSTRACT

Digital transformation means different things for different stakeholders. For a customer, digital transformation enables self-service. The gains from digital transformation can be sustained only when the financial enterprise is supported by an agile organization that is flexible to rapidly changing customer demographics and needs. Across industries, large enterprises succeed or fail in their digital transformation initiatives based on how they leverage their design, data, and delivery capabilities to enrich context and bring value to their interactions with their customers. This chapter develops the application using social, mobile, analytics, and cloud (SMAC) technologies are grouped under the umbrella of digital applications and products. Digital transformation projects require a measured risk-taking attitude. Legacy systems prove to be a drag on the IT organization and affect their readiness for digital transformation initiatives. The impact of DevOps is felt not just on practices and tools, but also on organizational culture. The culture of "do not disturb until something is broken" pervades the enterprise.
