ABSTRACT

Afrotropical occurs throughout the oceans south (S) of the tropics, north (N) to Angola and Mozambique in S Africa. Pintado petrel occurs throughout the world's oceans of the tropics, N to Namibia and Mozambique in S Africa. Wanderers in the Indian Ocean have reached N to Kenya, the Arabian Sea and India. Broad-billed prion breeds on S hemisphere islands and is found throughout the world's oceans S of the tropics, with dispersal N to Angola, the E seaboard of Africa and Indian Ocean. Wedge-tailed shearwater breeds on islands in the Indian Ocean and is known as a nonbreeding visitor along the whole E seaboard of Africa. Well known to offshore fishermen, Audubon's shearwater almost certainly occurs quite frequently and has been seen in large numbers, but substantiated records are few. It breeds on islands in the Indian Ocean and on unknown sites off Arabia, and is known as a non-breeding visitor along the E seaboard of Africa S to S Africa.
