ABSTRACT
Because these five sets of ideas — “face”, self, collectivism, guanxi, and being Chinese — play such a pivotal role in the cultural background of the Chinese and Chinese-Americans, law enforcement officers and analysts will encounter them sooner or later. Also, in light of the multi-level structure of this book, these five interrelated topics are described in greater detail and depth.
