ABSTRACT
Standard Telegraphic Code (STC), also known as Chinese Telegraphic Code (CTC), was established in the 19th century to identify and accurately identify specific characters and convey the meaning of Chinese words and names without using Chinese to do so. STC has been used to assist in the identification of Japanese names as well. By extension, it can be applied to Korean names.
