ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses the first treatise of new and selected traditional applications of activated carbon in the food, beverage, agricultural, and pharmaceutical industry. Repeated citations by the Japanese in numerous nontraditional areas demonstrate their perception of market demand and growth potential. It is the author's opinion that, for the most part, the continued growth applications are nonperishable opportunities. The book also discusses the revitalized role of activated carbon in nontraditional applications in the food, beverage, agricultural, and pharmaceutical industry. It is also hoped that this review become a desktop reference source to the new separation chemist yearning for an economical purification adsorbent. The use of activated carbon should always be considered.
