ABSTRACT
Categorical data appear often in repeated measurements problems. A simple example is a preference score measured at several time points. For example, at each of p times the respondents may be asked to express a preference between two alternatives A and B according to the following scheme:
1 = strong preference for A
2 = mild preference for A
3 = no preference
4 = mild preference for B
5 = strong preference for B
