ABSTRACT

The frequencies of the magneto-bremsstrahlung radiation in a medium can be found from conservation of energy and momentum, as was done in detail for Cerenkov radiation. This treatment not only takes account of the additional quantum terms due to the "recoil" but also gives a better understanding of the meaning and character of the Cerenkov radiation emitted by a charge moving in a magnetic field. The Cerenkov and Doppler effects from the quantum viewpoint. Radiation reaction in a medium. Cerenkov radiation and absorption of waves in isotropic and magnetoactive plasmas. Cerenkov radiation is usually considered in relation to its emission by such objects as point charges or bunches of charges. In addition, the calculation of the Cerenkov radiation intensity for dipoles is a well-known auxiliary procedure, which, for instance, yields some data on the magnetic moments of particles with various spins.
