ABSTRACT

Supported precious metals catalysts are all considered together for the reason that they can be divided into individual operations. Such catalysts, for example, are used for hydrogenations, oxidations, oxychlorinations, dehydrogenations, and oxidative dehydrogenations as well as for other processes. They also are useful for the hydrogenation of organic compounds containing halide groups as well as sulfur and phosphorus. These catalysts can be operated at a low enough temperature that the hydrogenation can be carried out without hydrogenolysis and the removal of these important substituent groups or components.
