ABSTRACT

The sea bed is important both as an environment for the cultivation of marine life and as a base for erecting structures. The factors to be considered with regard to the sea bed as an environment for marine life are depth, the bathymetry, bottom material, the organisms which live on the sea bed, etc., and as a foundation for structures, the bearing capacity of the soil and the movement of bottom material must be considered. The following items are important for improving the environment to the desired state and methods of maintaining this state are discussed below.
