ABSTRACT

Government workers are not the only ones who are running short of time. Our new age seems to have failed in its promise of more leisure time with advances in technology. If anything, our lives have become far more complicated with the advent of cellular telephones, fax machines and beepers. The scores of books on time management are filled with suggestions that can help a team. Time management, or whatever the latest publications call it, is merely a series of steps we can take to manage the time we have to give us greater flexibility and control of activities in our lives. In fact, many improvements in Total Quality Management relate to the better use of time and improved customer service centering on faster and more efficient provision of services. There are many different techniques that have the same objective—to free up more time to accomplish what we consider important.
