ABSTRACT
Corrosion is defined as a gradual wearing away or alteration by a chemical or electrochemical oxidizing process. Because the process of corrosion returns metal to its original condition, we must consider the action degeneration, in its true or primary form. Destruction of metals by methods other than mechanical means is, therefore, considered to be corrosion failure.
