ABSTRACT
Phenylmercuric acetate, phenylmercuric borate, and phenylmercuric nitrate are classified as antimicrobial preservatives. They are bactericidal against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative species. Fungicidal activity has been demonstrated against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger.
