ABSTRACT
Tincture of orange peel is one of several compounds used as flavoring agents in oral pharmaceuticals. Official USP/NF preparations that contain orange oil include aromatic elixir USP, orange oil USP, sweet orange peel tincture NF, compound orange spirit NF, and orange syrup NF. These flavorings may be present in commercially available products and are also used in extemporaneous compounding.
