ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I will review elements of manufacturability and assembly along with serviceability and reliability. In a way, the purpose of the entire chapter may be summarized in the following. Design for X activities should identify the most appropriate materials and processes to deliver design specifications; identify which components/assemblies have a shorter life span than others; and arrange and locate these components within subsystems such that they can be replaced easily and quickly.
