ABSTRACT

Quirino cristiani was born on July 2, 1896, in the village of Santa Giuletta, in Italy, which is located in the province of Pavia. His parents were Luigi Cristiani, secretary of the city administration, and Adele Martinotti. The future director's first home was an apartment in the city hall, where the city provided lodging for its secretary and his family. Quirino's parents were both from Casteggio, a small village founded in pre-Roman times about five kilometers east of Santa Giuletta at the crossroads between the road to Alessandria and Piacenza and a road that comes from Pavia. Luigi Cristiani had two options for work, linked to two letters of presentation. San Rafael was the capital of the wine industry and was located in the foothills of the Cordillera range in the Andes. Just a short time after his arrival, Luigi Cristiani was awakened one night by an earthquake that flipped him out of bed onto the floor.
