Likelihood-based ignorable analysis for missing data

In this chapter, we shall illustrate a good property of the mixed-effects model for handing missing data. We can apply the likelihood-based ignorable analysis under the relatively weak assumption of MAR (missing at random) without a list-wise deletion or imputation methods. Before going to illustrations, we would like to discuss how to handle missing data in mixed-effects models.
