ABSTRACT

Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a generic term used to refer to statistical methods for analyzing data or measurements arising originally from agricultural experiments. Nowadays, ANOVA includes a lot of statistical methods devised depending on the way how the experiment should be planned or the measurements should be taken, i.e., experimental design. Until recently, among other things, ANOVA for split-plot design (described in Section 3.3) has been used for analyzing repeated measurements, in which a suitable adjustment is made to take correlations among repeated measurements into account. Therefore, a split-plot ANOVA model for this purpose is sometimes called a repeated measures ANOVA model.
