ABSTRACT

In this section, we use Compass Ruler Algebra and its inner product for the computation of angles and distances. Original work dealing with inner products of circles derives from Jakob Steiner in the 1820’s [A1] 1 . There is more recent accessible content where the formulas and meaning for the inner products of circles appear in the “Kreisgeometrie” (“Circle geometry”) section of Felix Klein’s classic work “Vorlesungen ueber Hoehere Geometrie” [A2] 2 . Other work (e.g. [A3] 3 .) also includes a comprehensive treatment with topics such as the angle of intersection of two intersecting circles and relations between circles and lines.
