ABSTRACT

Terrorism also is nothing new; terrorist attacks have occurred for decades. The major differences between then and now, is the frequency, the publicity, the rise of terrorist organizations, the level of brutality, and the types of weapons used. Whether or not an incident is labeled terrorism or something else is based largely on the motive of the incident as well as the outcome of the incident. Active shooters can be mentally challenged people, someone retaliating for some reason, and family disputes, or just plain terrorists.
