ABSTRACT
The main objective of this chapter is to introduce the definition of remote sensing, the importance of remote sensing technologies, and the aim of this book with a holistic structure. It emphasizes the concept of the system of a systems engineering approach with implications in art and science. The initiative of integrated multisensor data fusion and machine learning is highlighted for promoting environmental sustainability.
