ABSTRACT
The main objective of this chapter is to introduce commonly used concepts in physics to build the foundation of electromagnetic radiation for remote sensing. System design concepts of sensors for remote sensing are linked to frequently applied atmospheric radiative transfer processes to generate a method for collecting quality remotely sensed data. The key connection point between electromagnetic radiation and remote sensing will be highlighted in this chapter.
