ABSTRACT

All leaders are involved and accountable for changes that are impacting their employees. Chances are, health professionals have been a leader during a time when change was demanded of their people. In one way or another they were seen as a change leader by the people that work for them. Health professionals' actions, attitudes, and words directly influenced how easy or hard the change was for their employees. Knowing the skills that are required to lead a change and sharpening these skills is essential for the successful adoption of their team. Leading change requires a person to have courage, abundantly communicate and listen, as well as to foster a safe and supportive environment for taking risks and learning. There are three fundamental roles leaders play in any change initiative. They are executive sponsors, operations leaders, project team leaders.
