ABSTRACT
This chapter describes DPCM, RF data encryption/decryption techniques, optical up-/downlink data coding, soft computing: fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and artificial neural network (ANN) systems, model-free bit error rate tester (BERT) design, error control codes: linear block codes and convolutional codes, pick and place robotic controller and audio-codec (AC97) interfaces. This chapter is mainly designed with few case studies through which the readers will come to understand a complete project design for several applications. Some of the design examples possess only the MATLAB solutions, and the VHDL code designs are left to the readers in the last part of this chapter as laboratory exercises.
