ABSTRACT

Storyboard incorporates all of the arts and a good chunk of life into its matrix. Each project presents an opportunity to learn about different cultures, historic eras, and characters. An animated film's story may grow from a grain of truth. Inspiration for a story can be found in "human interest" stories online or actual news items. Gesture drawings of humans and animals will help to create ideas for stories and better action for imaginary actors. The basic idea for any film is called a log line. A quick search through several online news sites yielded the following unusual stories that could become animation "log lines". Old-time animation story men referred to a story as the "clothesline" on which they would "hang" story and character development. A treatment, or a short story version of the film story may include dialogue but will not include scene cuts and other script formatting, may also be written by the storyboard artist.
