ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 Continuity Equation presents the principles of fluid kinematics (conservation of mass), which yield the continuity equation. The conservation of mass is presented and applied in both the Eulerian (integral) and the Lagrangian (differential) approaches. The study of fluid kinematics considers the type of fluid flow, the flow visualization/geometry, and the description and observation of the fluid motion, and thus, the analysis of the velocity and acceleration of the fluid in motion.
