ABSTRACT
This is a chapter wherein the fundamentals of the FTA are explained. In that context, the symbols, rules, and advices for building a fault tree (FT) are presented, together with the general procedure for executing FTA (explained step by step). Everything in this chapter is explained from a practitioner’s point of view, and there are practical considerations and examples that will help you understand the main points of FTA without breaking a sweat.
