ABSTRACT
28Practical application of all elastomers is almost impossible without reinforcing them by fillers. Nowadays, the usage of fillers in the preparation of elastomer composites not only means to change and improve their mechanical and dynamic properties and lower the final price but also to develop composites possessing novel and more attractive properties. This chapter describes the synthesis methods, options for modification of fillers, and some possibilities for their characterization. Utilization of such fillers contributes to the complexity of elastomer properties and also to widening the range of their applications.
