In analyzing evidence to determine the appropriate set of footsteps to follow, or once decided on a set to follow, invariably there will be interpretations to make, conflicts and adjustments to resolve, and corrections to consider as well as other reconciliations. This chapter addresses the mathematics of original surveys: directions, distances, and adjustments as well as interpretations of various forms of evidence.
