ABSTRACT

Many, if not most, land parcels contain numerous problems regarding incorrect or improper boundary calls or miscalculations from earlier surveys, title examinations, and related interests of such easements. In addition, many parcels have been created from a series of divisions of larger tracts over time. With each maneuver the risk of problems increases. The result often manifests itself through abutting parcels not physically touching as intended, leaving gaps and overlaps. More often than not the retracement surveyor must overcome puzzles and mazes with considerable handicaps.
