ABSTRACT
For most operations with unums and ubounds, the hardware approach is to move from the u-layer to the g-layer, perform the operation there, and convert the result back to the u-layer. The unpacked form of a ubound discussed in Chapter 7 provides a concrete example of a hardware approach for operations described here.
