ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book examines the issues of process design from a conceptual, high-level view. It provides the move from a high-level to a low-level, detailed examination of processes and flows. The book examines led readers through deterministic models for cycle time and capacity analysis. It introduces the notion of building computer simulations for modeling business processes. The book provides a theory to practice in the realm of process simulation with the introduction and fairly extensive use of the ExtendSim software. It describes a higher-level view of a process by treating simulation models as black boxes. The book explores the black-box view, the internal details of the simulation model were not of concern. It looks processes from both a white-box and a black-box perspective while embracing analytics as an approach to business process management (BPM).
