Safety culture is the attitude, beliefs, perceptions, and values that employees share in relation to safety in the workplace. The idea of changing the safety culture at a mining or any other organization can be alarming because the workplace may have fallen into a pattern of complacency. Safety culture” is a sub-section of the overall company culture. As safety reaches all levels of the workforce in an organization, building a safety culture is very essential. Good safety leaders know that strong safety performance is what drives the company’s results. Leaders and senior managers must act as role models. They must show how to create a safe work environment.
