ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the wireless irrigation system for the agricultural field. The concept is to measure the soil moisture content and the corresponding temperature and based on the requirement of crop motor is made “ON” or “OFF” to irrigate the fields. The control can be done wirelessly. The system is designed in two sections: (1) sensor node and (2) remote control. Sensor node comprises the Arduino Uno, power supply, Soil moisture sensor, Temperature sensor, LCD, load (DC motor), and the RF modem. Remote control comprises the Arduino Uno, power supply, LCD, switch array (to send command to operate load), and the RF modem. All the parameters can also be displayed on LabVIEW GUI.
