ABSTRACT

There are four national parks in the Sierra Nevada Network: Devils Postpile National Monument (DEPO), Yosemite National Park (YOSE), and Sequoia (SEQU) and Kings Canyon (KICA) national parks, which are jointly managed and referred to as SEKI; they are combined for most analyses in this chapter. The SEKI parks and YOSE are each larger than 100 mi2 (259 km2). They are the focus of this chapter. Since air pollutants can be widespread, the reduction of pollution emissions affecting large parks will often result in the protection of smaller parks located nearby as well.
