ABSTRACT

There are ve parks in the Arctic Network, ranging in size from about 900 to 12,000 mi2 (2,330 to 31,080 km2). Two of them are addressed here: Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve (GAAR) and Noatak National Preserve (NOAT). Figure 21.1 shows the network boundary along with locations of each park and population centers having more than 10,000 people around the network. There are no population centers larger than 25,000 people within the region.
