ABSTRACT
It is a DC server’s domain to consume network messages and to transform them to system entities. In Section 2.2.2 we have looked at OpenGTS where the DC servers are packaged in independent jar files that can be launched on the command line. This is useful for the production operator to leverage network traffic. Each process is visible on the OS level with unix commands like top and ps. These small jar applications store the decoded messages in the database. Many GTS features, like admin-and map frontend and reporting engine are coded against the database without awareness for device communication.
