ABSTRACT

One of the primary tasks in urban remote sensing is to extract terrain and building information from various data sources. Such information is useful for urban run-off and flooding analysis in hydrology and hydraulics studies. Terrain and buildings are also primary input data for urban development planning, forecast, and simulation. Urban environmental monitoring and modeling need such information to model the distribution of heat, pollution, and population. Besides, they recently find increasing applications in the real estate industry, disaster management, homeland security, and realistic visualization.
