The Needs Assessment domain includes the business analyst tasks necessary to (a) understand the opportunities or problems of the sponsoring organization; (b) incorporate the tools and techniques to determine the value proposition; (c) establish the project goals and objectives and link them to the organizational pillars; and (d) complete a comprehensive stakeholder assessment. The activities in this domain produce deliverables, which will be used throughout the project, including the situation statement, solution scope statement, business case, and various stakeholder assessment artifacts.
