ABSTRACT
So far, our discourse on search engines has covered how to automatically download web pages (web crawlers) and how to measure the quality of web pages (PageRank). Now we will add the final ingredient—how to select relevant web pages to a search query. With these three pieces of knowledge, anyone with coding experience can build a simple search engine, for a personal or community project.
