ABSTRACT

In 2016, AlphaGo, the Google computer program that plays the board game Go, beat the world champion, Lee Se-dol. It was the first time a computer Go program has beaten a 9-dan professional without handicaps. This event led to a worldwide rise of interest in artificial intelligence. Several months later, its second version, Master, won all 60 matches against all human Go masters. In 2017, the improved version of AlphaGo beat Ke Jie by 3:0, the world's No.1 ranked player at the time, in a three-game match.
