ABSTRACT
The Japanese call this process Hansei, which literally means selfreflection. It is an integral part of Japanese culture: An individual acknowledges one’s mistake and commits to carry out the necessary improvement. The Japanese society constantly pushes its politicians to carry out Hansei and mend their corrupt ways.
