ABSTRACT

How to achieve affordability is akin to “eating the elephant.” We all know that eating the elephant is achieved by taking one bite at a time. However, I rarely see a design and plan for achieving such a feat. Affordability is achieved by aligning and aiming at the integration of value, customer, and cost. This chapter provides one approach to accomplishing that mean. This approach is the compilation of 25  years of exposure to numerous similar endeavors. After being involved with more than 80 organizations and way more than 150 projects, I’ve discovered some key actions and attributes that lead to affordability.
