ABSTRACT

Example 6.1.1 Suppose the time in minutes until you win your first hand of Texas Hold’em is modeled as having the pdf in Figure 6.1a, where f (y) = 3/20 – 3y2/2000, for 0 ≤ y ≤ 10 and f(y) = 0 otherwise. According to this model, what is the probability that it will take between 3 and 5 minutes to win your first hand? What is the probability that it will take more than 8 minutes to win a hand? What is the probability that it will take more than 10  minutes to win a hand?
