ABSTRACT

At the end of February, Betty was finishing up the AAUP Kit. She was still working on the bibliography of salary inequity studies. Around the beginning of April, she sent the final draft of the Kit to Eymonerie, who in turn sent it to the advisory board for review and comment. SWEM gave its annual report to the UC-Berkeley academic senate in April. The AAUP published the Kit in 1977 under the title 'Higher Education Salary Evaluation Kit: A Recommended Method for Flagging Women and Minority Personnel for Whom There is Apparent Salary Inequity'. Not surprisingly, Betty's profile as a role model for academic women expanded in 1977. In November, she was back at work on the UC-Berkeley personnel (PERS) data. Betty saved the certificate of participating in the Old Masters program. As the year 1977 came to a close, she filled out a questionnaire sent to her and others who were not members of The Faculty Club.
