ABSTRACT

In the IPMSM, torque also depends on the d-axis current. Therefore, like the induction motor, there are many ways of combining dq currents for a constant torque production. But, the loss is different for each current set, ( i d e , i q e ) $ (i_d^e,\, i_q^e) $ https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315200149/630eeaf1-cf7e-4d5e-98a3-31121965c251/content/inline-math7_1.tif"/> . The maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) is a current minimizing control technique for a given torque, thus it is a copper loss minimizing control.
