ABSTRACT

The concept of the smart city promises to provide an enhanced city experience with cyber-enabled smarter services to its citizens. However, like any other digital service, the smart city’s services should be risk-managed and secured for use by its citizens. The interdependent cyber systems in future smart cities should interconnect devices and humans with confidentiality, integrity, availability and trustworthiness. This chapter discusses the smart city concept and how shared risks in interdependent systems of smart cities can be managed in order to provide risk-managed and secured smart services to citizens.
