ABSTRACT
This chapter designates for security surveillance centers that operate the fire command center for the property. The evolution of the fire command center being located in this area increases the ability for confirmation of an alert on the fire panel, to be instantaneous, as being an actual event or an alarm malfunction. When the fire command center is intertwined with the security surveillance center, the security surveillance center personnel should be familiar with the basic operations and components of the fire alarm system. In the event of a fire alarm or actual fire, it will be the security surveillance center's responsibility to ensure that policies are implemented and followed in order to protect lives and company assets. When personnel discover a fire or evidence of a fire, it will be immediately broadcast as an alert message over the radio or telephone to the security surveillance center. The radio transmission must include the exact location, nature, and disposition of the fire.
