ABSTRACT
Training of all of the security surveillance center personnel should commence and be continuous and ongoing. This is a key principle and factor in determining how successful the operation will be. The security surveillance center personnel should understand the importance of the proper setup and monitor display of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems. This chapter outlines some of the areas of responsibility that security surveillance center personnel should receive training on and be able to demonstrate a high proficiency level when completed. Security surveillance center personnel should be well versed in the detection techniques utilized for the identification of violations of policy, procedure, and the law. The technological advances in the field of security surveillance centers are only limited to the imagination. However, there will always be a human element needed to perform and oversee the role and functions of the security surveillance center and the personnel responsible for the safety and security of all.
