ABSTRACT

The International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB) offers three levels of software testing certification—Foundation, Advanced, and Expert. New modules are being added in four topic areas—agile, automotive, usability, and model-based testing (MBT). The ISTQB is a nonprofit organization, it is composed of 50 member boards that serve 72 countries, and has accredited more than 250 training providers. As an all-volunteer organization, with the exception of paid staff at the world headquarters in Belgium and in the country offices, the ISTQB is governed by an Executive Committee elected by the General Assembly, which is composed of representatives from the member boards. ISTQB certification is done at three levels: Foundation, Advanced, and Expert. The model-based testing extension to the Foundation Syllabus was approved by the ISTQB General Assembly in October 2015. Each ISTQB syllabus has stated Learning Objectives, Expected Business Outcomes, and recommended times for training providers.
